Do I Look Sick?

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

I just got back from church tonight and some old friends were amazed to see me. I’m not sure if amazed was the right word but most of them knew that I am sick and during those “bad times” when I was in and out of the hospital, our church pastor would always ask the congregation to pray for my immediate recovery. I do believe in the power of prayers and I survived everything because a lot of concerned people took time to sincerely pray for my well-being. I have no words to describe the gratitude I feel towards them.

Everyone thought that I am looking good, I am not boasting or anything but since I am losing weight I do feel good and as far as I could remember this is the first time after being diagnosed with lupus (and after several years of taking steroids, undergoing chemo therapy and a lot of medication) that I actually feel good towards myself. I feel fine most of the time but this is the only time that I could say that I really feel great. Physically I know I am not in the best health as I want to be but I love my life right now. I am not sure though if this is where God wants me to be but I sure feel happy and somehow contented.

Lupus is an invisible disease. You can never really tell by merely looking at lupies that they’re sick and I doubt if they’ll ever tell you that they are but even though we feel terrible at times and sick most of the time. We don’t really look like it. Now, do I look sick?

Fix vs Replace

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

I always see to it that our house is well maintained and I hate it when something goes wrong. I always want to fix things and I believe it will always cost less if you deal with the problem right away rather than be too late. Our kitchen faucets are leaking and it’s not a good thing to waste on water. That is why I called our mr.fix-it-guy and he was able to fix it, it saved me from buying a replacement for it.

24-hour Protection

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

This coming summer month of April is truly a busy one not just for me but for my entire family. We will be so busy taking vacations. My mom will be leaving out of town for conventions and seminars, while my brother will be busy being a councilor at our church camp. I will also be leaving for a series of travel with my friends and work related business trip. Usually we leave our house with our housemaid but this summer she won’t be around and I’m thinking of getting an alarm system monitoring so that we can have a 24-hour security for our neighbors to know if there are unwanted nuisance in our house.

Why Do You Blog?

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

I remembered when I first started to join Paid Blogging, at first I was hesitant I didn’t really believe that I could earn real money with blogging but after constant persuasion from some friends I tried my luck in Blog Advertising. Maybe some of you might think it’s an easy job and easy money but the truth is, it’s not. You really have to work hard too and give some thought and time in every post. You must also push your blog for higher rankings to have more opportunities. But you must also put in mind that blogging is not just a way of earning money from it but also to express yourself and discover unlimited possibilities of what lies beyond.

Earth Hour in Manila

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Manila took part at Earth Hour. I was still at the mall with my mom when the malls and most of the streets in Manila joined the world for one hour of darkness. It’s nice to be a part of a global campaign to raise awareness on climate change. It may be insignificant or nothing was really achieved in just an hour of partial darkness but anything to somewhat help save the earth from global warming will do.
